Big Ben Rolls Into Town... For Kids

Paul Woody of the TIMES-DISPATCH writes, "Ben Wallace is listed as 6-9, probably stands closer to 6-7 and plays in the NBA as if he were a 7-footer. Wallace never is bigger, though, than when he is doing what he did yesterday: making life a little nicer for a large group of children. Wallace is a former All-America player at Virginia Union University, a four-time NBA defensive player of the year and owner of one NBA championship ring."The Golden State Warriors have named Don Nelson as the team's new head coach, it was announced today by Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not announced. Nelson replaces former Warriors' coach Mike Montgomery and becomes the 23rd head coach in franchise history.
