Report: Max Deal for Melo, Despite LBJ's Example
ESPN.COM's Marc Stein reports, "Carmelo Anthony will not be following LeBron James' lead and signing a shorter-than-maximum contract extension later this week. Anthony's agent told ESPN.com on Monday that the All-Star forward is going ahead with his plans to sign a five-year, contract extension worth up to $80 million with the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday." Sam Amick of the SACRAMENTO BEE reports, "(Francisco Garcia) learned Sunday that he has a bone spur on the instep of his left foot, perhaps explaining his lackluster summer-league performance. Garca, who stopped early during Kings practice Saturday and later flew back to Sacramento for an X-ray, was relieved that the results were negative. Still, he has been instructed to stay out of action for the next month."
