Wizards Sign Songaila From Bulls
"Forward Darius Songaila passed a physical exam and signed a five-year contract worth around $21 million with the Washington Wizards yesterday. Songaila, who holds an option for the fifth year, is the Wizards' 13th player under contract for the 2006-07 season," reports Ivan Carter of THE WASHINGTON POST.
Dave D'Alessandro of the Newark STAR-LEDGER reports, "Training camp is still seven weeks away, and already the Nets have suffered their first casualty. Josh Boone, the 6-10 rookie forward who will be counted upon to be long-term member of the team's power rotation, tore the labrum in his left shoulder during a recent rookie-free agent league game in Orlando, Fla., which is likely to shut him down for the rest of the summer."
