Barkley Eyes Alabama Governor Run

"Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley has changed his political uniform from red to blue and is talking again about running for governor of Alabama, possibly in 2010," according to an Associated Press report on ESPN.com. "`Alabama, that's my home. I'm thinking about running for governor; they need the help,' Barkley said." "As shallow as the 2006 NBA draft was reported to be, there were apparently a number of players who either slid or weren't drafted at all who had the respect of Danny Ainge," writes Mark Murphy of the BOSTON HERALD. "Ainge was also admittedly surprised that no one spent a draft pick on Kevin Pittsnogle - a 6-foot-11 3-point specialist from West Virginia who hasn't proven to anyone that he can play anything resembling a big man's role in the NBA."
